Alcoa Financials Q2 2013

Alcoa Financials Q2 2013
Sales, earnings, balance sheet, cash flows

Alcoa: Doggy style again.
Sales flat, costs up, particularly operational costs.
Loss widens.

Of course Alcoa reports the not-so-silvery results as “Strong Operational Performance Offset by Special Items” which sounds kind-of Orwell’s NewSpeak.
The “special items” are so common for Alcoa, that no quarter ever lapsed over the past three years without some “special items”.
The restructuring charges that appear quarter by quarter, non-stop, without fail.We interpret such ever-recurring items like a regular operational expense, so we didn’t bother to restate anything.
In a nutshell, for us Alcoa Financials for Q2 2013 look as they look: quite bad – doggy style – we don’t see any strong performance here, quite the contrary.
