Travelers Financials Q2 2013

Travelers (TRV) Q2 results.

Travelers Financials Q2 2013

Travelers: Revenues relatively flat,
but earnings and cash flow from operations up YoY.
Particularly impressing, considering TRV has a declining assets base.
Share repurchases continue unabated.

Travelers mentioned that the increase in net & operating income YoY primarily resulted from lower catastrophe losses, higher underlying underwriting margins, and favorable tax and legal settlements, partially offset by lower net investment income and lower net favorable prior year reserve development. Net income also benefited from higher net realized investment gains.
